Is this easy to see? My alternator was replaced and appears to be clean. Who knows if the previous owner went the full distance and got the gasket as well.

The gasket is not designed to be replaced when the alternator is replaced. You would be looking for oil dripping down the engine block, starting in the area between the alternator and the block.

It is easy. Once u get the belly pan out just look behind the alternator and surrounding area. There should be no oil around there. Look at the bracket bolts to see if they have been removed . If they look like they haven't been removed might be the original gasket still on there. Not sure here but if the bolts look like they all have been wrenched , it might have been done and fixed .
