Question for manual 530d drivers

My Ride: 530d Sport manual Mystic Blue, black Dakota leather, advanced air con, fold/split rear seats, Logic 7, business nav, 6cd, heated F seats

No clunk or pop from my manual 2006 530D when changing from 1st to 2nd.
Are you sure you're depressing clutch pedal sufficiently? Alternatively perhaps you have the beginings of a clutch problem.
The only gearbox-related issue I have is different.... 1st is way too low for most occasions, and so I often start in 2nd.

I have played around with my gearchange technique and I've made sure the clutch is fully depressed, but the issue still remains.
Will your 2nd gear technique put any extra wear on your clutch?

Have you tried double de-clutching from first to second? Certainly makes things smoother, althoiugh I"m coming from an E46 and E90 330d manual perspective.![Smile](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/smile.gif)
