OK, so I get the first chance to use my heated seats in my new car, and for at least one day, I'm happy I spent the $500! Now for my question: I get in the car this morning and the temp outside is showing 35 degrees (F) on the dash, but I get no gong and snowflake message warning about low temperature. I assum this is still a feature on the car, btu why wouldn't I get the warning? On my old 545 it appeared at 37 degrees (F)...

Its supposed to light up at 37 and 32 degrees. I'm not sure but maybe its an Idrive setup option? Also, does your car have the HUD. I've always noticed the warning on the HUD display - but never checked the dashboard nor drove the car with the HUD turned off.

Hi,

in my 525iA LCI the gong ans snowlake come at +3 degrees celsius - exactly the same as by my old 530iA -04.

Best regards,

Jukka

It will come up when the temperature is 3?C or colder at startup.

My HUD displays the exact outside temperature and the snowflake, such as -1? right now.

If the temperature was warmer at startup and hits 3? or colder, it will display while you are underway.

Yes, this is how my old car worked and how the system is described in the manual. I don't have HUD but the temp is displayed on the dash and still no gong or snowflake warning signal in the new car despite showing 35? F (2? C) on the dash temp at start-up. Not a huge deal as it happens two days a year down here but may want to get it looked at next time I bring the car in. Problem will proving that it doesn't work as advertised to the service tech!

Well, when you see a few hundred extra km on the car, the excuse will be, drove to colder climate.

I think the outside temperature warning only chimes if the temperature drops to 37 degrees F from a temperature that is higher than that. In other words, if you get in the car and it's already below 37 degrees, then you won't hear a chime...

No, it chimes and alerts upon startup.

I thought it chimed at start-up as well, as long as the temp was cold enough. I did start the car before buckling up so maybe the seatbelt warning bumped the cold warning somehow. But I seem to recall in the old 545, that even though the gong and snowflake warning went away after a minute, there remained a check control message, with the little warning triangle and ! symbol on the dash. So I checked the check control messages and nothing there. Maybe my memory of that is bad though...

+1. It's really annoying, and I wish I could turn it off.
