Question about 1st gear on a 535 steptronic

What is the deal with 1st gear when you first start accelerating. it is jerky and unsmooth. there is a little lag, then all of a sudden it accelerates quick but almost instantly shifts into second. its like this car was only made to be driven hard? am i wrong? is it just my car?

there is a known turbo lag with the BMW TT engines including the 535i.....the software upgrade/fix should be released next month...more info in this thread..
