Huh? I didn't think you could program a button for next track or next radio station. The arrow keys on the right side already do exactly that...

Here's my take on the subject:

Top button: Telephone List.
Bottom button: Next Entertainment Source.

On extended nighttime highway trips, I will swap telephone list for the one that turns off the screen so I can quickly toggle it on and off as needed.

For me, programming the mute feature wastes a button since I can use the dashboard knob to mute without using my eyes. I don't use the nav voice so I have no need to program that one either.
oops, you're right, it's the next entertainment source which others believe is the same as seat ejector - well if you have a dull passenger, it can be true , but then I wonder where the next entertainment source will come from

One trick I figured out is that if you last selected the turn off screen when in the "i" menu, you can just hit the idrive controller twice to turn off the screen. I'm rarely in that menu, so that is almost always the case for me.

The menu button brings it back and puts you on the startup screen.
