I just had my car reprogramed with Progman 23.xx from 19.xx. What I should notice about it?

I do not have CCC, my car is business nav, M-ASK.

I asked, because the dealer in Wiesbaden told us, there's no new version than that version, that is now installed on our car. And it has never been updated. It has still the same version as it's first day. And that was February 2005....

Go to this post here to see ALL the CIP updates thru the years. Germany, then the rest of the world get the same updates. The dates in this post include the Target Data Status which includes the date (year and month) of the release. You can see your dealer is not too smart not to know this.

Yep, espacially because it is warranty work.
So he makes his customers happy and gets paid by BMW.

Sent my M6 to the local agent here for some fixes. They upgraded my software to ver 23. The radio that was working fine before the upgrade now periodically gets muted. At times, I lose all but 2 stations.

Great update!!!

Hi guys, I just got 23.1 installed in my car last week (from CIP 20) and I'll have to tell you some things changed for the better, like the stupid lawyer screen comes up but goes away by itself after a few seconds; some things I'm sure I have not noticed yet and some things that were supposed to be fixed with the upgrade, are NOT fixed. My CD player continues to run after I turn the car off. The car still surges (or acelerates on its own) as I'm stopped at a light. It does this two or three times (surging 3-400 RPM and the consumption needle pegs to the 12 MPG) and then it settles, and a couple of other things. I have noticed a different hierachy on the menus on the iDrive but not have checked them all. Like an idiot I didn't copy what I had before to see what is different now.

I took the car to the dealership and we came up with 25 complaints - each written on its own line. 4 days later when I picked the car up, the service advisor told me 23 of the 25 had been software issues ("fixed with software" - were his exact words) and the other two they had not been able to duplicate. Well boys and girls, as I said above, many are not fixed and I have the latest software release. What now??

BTW, I am in Germany and I have a US Spec car.

If anyone is interested I can upload the list of faults I took to the dealership (BMW Niederlassung in Darmstadt, GE).

Any thoughts??

Thanks,

Santiago.
