This is great news! My eyebrow and side indicator lights have been out since November.

With this in mind, will loading v25 automatically fix this light issue or is there a manual fix in addition to the software?

For example, I have yet ot have MP3 enabled and know this is an option that must be chosen from a list during the reprogram. Is there something similar for the lights?

Thanks!!!
For what it's worth, the Progman 25 is SIB #61 14 03. Looking through the text of it, it addresses engine pinging and cold weather idle complaints, and then a bunch of CCC-related issues, including the CD run-on issue. There seem to be a bunch of other things handled, so perhaps the lights are in the mix somewhere.

Well, here's what it says:

"SI B 61 14 03
General Electrical Systems March 2007
Technical Service

This Service Information bulletin supersedes S.I. B61 14 03 date December 2006."

Then toward the bottom it says:

"Update the complete vehicle per SI B09 05 01 (Coding, Individualization, Programming) Procedure B, using Progman 25.00.00 (Target Data Status E060-07-03-510) or higher."

Not being a student of SIBs, I don't know why they'd re-use the same number, unless it's because it addresses the same issues.

I find it odd that the inclusive list in this bulletin of fixes does not include Progman V24.01 which provides the fix for the Steptronic slam problem. Was this an oversight or did they drop it or ????

Picked her up at noon, dealer loaded program 25, per SIB 64-04-05. Don't see any differences in IDrive functions, don't have nav., hope it fixes A/C fan problem.

The tell-tale sign of the Progman 25 treatment is that the IDrive Home Menu has improved graphics.

ABC - three technical SIB questions: 1) If the SIB says that the entire system should be re-programed, as it appears to do in SIB 61 14 03, then does the dealer have any discretion, that is, does the entire thing have to go into the car? 2) Once Progman 25 is in the system (presumably downloaded from some central BMW server), is an earlier version no longer available? and finally 3) May the dealer tell the owner what the Target data Status number is, presuming this will disclose what's in the car?

I'm not sure about the first two items, but I know from experience that the dealer must give you the target data status if you request it. Just request a copy of the Measures Plan and the Final Report. The TDS will be on those.
