As part of the steering angle sensor recall I had my car flashed to CIP 23.x this week. Unfortunately my comfort seats no longer move the side bolsters to their rest position making ingress more difficult since I like to have aggressive bolstering. Has anyone else seen this problem? What other problems have you noticed since upgrading to CIP 23.x? What version were you on prior to the upgrade?

No problems to report. However, I wasnted the CD run on problem to be resolved. I can confirm the following:
  1. CD keeps spiining when car is off and volume is muted. (problem not fixed as promised)
  2. Lawyer screen does go way after a few seconds without having to "Accept". yes I have NAV
  3. Keypad is now on main phone screen
  4. Slight re-arrangement of (i) menu. What are the check marks for ?

Here is what some have noticed. How about replying on the linked thread if you want to discuss any of the issues mentioned there to keep their discussions "all together."

So you are saying that after upgrading, the side bolsters stay tight, if that's how you have them set?? I wouldn't like that at all!!

I'm going to wait until the CD fix is complete, hopefully, in 2007 before upgrading......

I hate that to get one thing fixed, you end up losing one more other things.......

Seems a 'reset' of the bolster memory fixed it. I opened (or deflated) the bolsters, turned off the car, locked, then went back in and reset the bolsters to where I like them. Now it seems to works as designed. So no more issues with the CIP upgrade. Just more (wanted) features.

So the "upgrade" (some think downgrade) to progman 23 did not fix the CD run on after shutting the car down? I have experienced this problem also. I would like to get the benefits, like the phone key pad, but I am concerned that it will unfix something else.

Explain the CD run on - does the music stay on or just that the the motor keeps spinning?

I just upgraded to v23 from v17 last week. The lawyer screen does go away after a few seconds (although it seems like it takes longer to boot - the BMW logo screen stays on for like 10 seconds).

Here's my question - I thought I read somewhere that newer versions of the software would default to the last used screen on boot up. For example, instead of displaying the root iDrive menu, it would automatically default to 'Entertainment' if that is what was displayed when I turned my car off. Does anyone get this behavior? This would save me a few clicks everytime I start my car since I almost always go straight to Entertainment.

I have pro-nav if that makes a difference.

The CD motor keeps going so that if you did turn the key back on minutes later when you hear the audio it would be well past the point on the CD where you turned the key off.
