Zeeb, I'm doing the same thing now as well. Oddly, my tubes all fell out as I was trying to wrangle the VC off.

I would highly recommend replacement of the tubes (since they are a known leak point), so it may be worth your time/money to just buy new ones, and use tools that might break the old ones during removal (pliers, etc). Be warned, the tubes are about $25 each (I bought them with the VC gasket kit from ECS).
