Hi there guys..

I have a strange problem with my key(s). For example when i want to lock/unlock the car, it worx only til 2-3 meters distance.. After that distance, its as good as papier weight! Sometimes i have to come like on few cm to my car so that it unlocks the door! First i tought that the battery in my key is dead and tryed with a second one that i have! Guess what!? Yup, the same problem is still killing me! Does anyone have this same issue, or had expiriance with this?

Thnx in advance

PS: For US adn UK memmbers:
1 meter = 39.37 inch

A VW I had did the same thing, the keys would only work if you pressed the remote against the glass. The dealer reset the keys for me in the end? Not sure what he did but they had to plug the car in and reset the codes...

After that it worked fine from a distance. Try holding the key against your head, that quite often helps with the range for some reason (not sure what it will do to your brain though! )

I think unfoprtunatly the problem lies with the cars control unit itself, youll have to get it brought into a dealer and get them to plug it in. Annoying yes! but the only way. You have ruled out the keys. so only one way to go now.

Here's a random thought... if you have the old style metal key, plug it into the door and lock and unlock it a few times... see if it helps...

Amazingly enough, this seems to work for me!
Anyone know why?
