Just called the parts department in my dealership today (Nottingham, UK)

They don't know anything about the availability of a retrofit for Professional Navigation

The technician (who was helpful) has said he will contact BMW directly for futher info/instructions.

Does anyone out there know of the parts / option number for the retrofit ?

My car is in the shop for the upgrade. Has been there since monday.

Once your at it cidair - When's Sweden closing? We'll be passing through half of it between the 24th and the 26th cruising along the 45. Are restaurants etc. closed for the mid summer partying? Just hate it when all you can get to eat is a hotdog from a petrol station

I?m escaping the country during midsummer this year ( France / Germany ).
Too much people on the roads those days ( maybe drunken too ). Be careful when driving through Sweden during midsummer weekend

What happens during midsummer weekend? My family and I are going to Sweden on the July 4th weekend.

" Midsommar " ( 25th june ) is the biggest partyweekend of the year in Sweden.

People drink A LOT of alcohol and dances round and round a high flower decorated pole, celebrating summer harvest etc. Very old tradition here in Sweden.

We eat a lot of " sill " ( special kind of fish ) and drink a lot of schnapps!!!

Really crazy but fun!

The bad thing is the roads and traffic. Everybody is going somewhere and in a hurry. Dangerous. A lot of people are killed on the roads these days.

Normally I?m always very busy working this weekend ( Ambulance Helicopter Pilot ) but this year I?m leaving the country for a nice trip to Germany and France enjoying the 545.

Would be VERY nice to have the map feature during the trip to Euro Disney!

Just checked with dealer. Uploading the software is NOT working properly.

I think they?ve tried 3 or 4 times already.

Seems very much like the problems bisqma had on his 530i.

Hopefully we'll be able to start on the 24th.. Would like to avoid the weekend, however, there's rarely much traffic in northern Sweden. And - there hardly ever seems to be any police along the roads

Our car will also be paying French and German highways an honorable visit

Finally! Got the car back yesterday.

It?s a real improvement to have the Prof compared to the Bus Nav.

I?ve missed the map feature soo much. This one is a lot better than the one I had in the M5 ( E39 ).

During the retrofit of the nav unit they managed to damage both the gear knob AND the i-drive controller. Big schratches on both of them .

Everything except the handset for the prof. phone seems to work.
I can use the phone via the i-drive but the handset is searching for the base station without luck, all the time.

Anyone had this problem? How can I get it reconnected again?

By the way - had the Brake Force thing activated. The hard part is to test if it?s working properly!?
