Noticed the same thing on my 550. Not very often maybe 25% of stops.
I'm not sure if software updates have anything to do with the brake system, but I had
CIP 20 installed last Wednesday and have not noticed this problem since.

I had been scheduled to recieve cip 20 since early December due to a rough idle and rough running situation when the engine was cold. I think there is actually a service bulletin out on this issue now as it is common with the 550.
You might try telling them you have this problem. Otherwise just tell them about your brake issue. I'll bet they will install cip 20 just to try to cure the brake issue.

Has anyone else experienced a problem with the brakes seeming to grab at the end of a stop. It is very hard to make a smooth stop because the brakes seem to grab at the end leading to an abrupt stop.
Very hard to modulate the brakes.

This being my 1st automatic (only manuals before) i ask u if smooth stopping is so difficult or impossible isn't that because of the torque converter or the auto box? That's why when u release the brake the car starts to creep away, because some torque is being transmited to the wheels even though the gas isn't touched. So that in a way is a reason for this AGAIN SO CALLED PROBLEM ! I agree if it acts like that on a car with comfort stop then it might be a problem, but since there is torque transmited to the wheels even when braking and comming to a stop, then it's kinda normal to stop a bit brutal. BIG PROBLEM, can't sleep at night...

About 4 or 5 new MY06 650 owners over on bimmerfest have also complained about grabby brakes. I am going to post this thread over there tonight (cannot access bimmerfest from work). I am not aware anybody has had any help but probably no updates in many days either.
I have a 2005 545i, and had the same problem when I first got the car. It doesn't seem to be a problem now (10 months later). Not sure if I have just gotten used to the brakes, or if they have just worked themselves in
