Today was 0 degrees C outside, and the mirrors were fine:-) So it was simply an ice issue.

I have exactly the same problem today as the temperature decreased to -12C, happy to hear it should get fixed on its own, when the temperature raises. It freaked me out since I have spent all my money for taxes and x-mass ..

Its better not to use auto fold feature if cold, thats for sure. if needed, fold by hand and then it clicks into place when folding out again.

The problem is, that as a lock my car, the mirror automatically gets into that stupid overturned position and I have to adjust it by hand every time i want to go somewhere. Even If I want to fold it, it does not stop in the right postion but it still tries to fold for another 5 seconds, even when its already stucked, im scared it may be bad for the motor inside, because the sound as it tries, but cant sounds terrible.

we dont get that in HK maybe it is programmed that way.
My also make nosie for about 5 sec after it fold in, it has been doing that from day 1 4 years ago so, I think it is OK.

Yep mine too..... drivers side makes squeaking sound after folding in.

Yesterday the drivers side mirror folded right round on opening which panicked me but after reading this thread I put it down to the freezing tempretures and sure enough today is a bit warmer and it's back to normal. Thanks to all for the info...thought I was in for a visit to the dealer.
Great forum this.

I live in sub zero temps in the winter and when I wash my car I fold the mirrors first. Then take a rag and dry out the exposed areas in and around the mirror. If the car wash has an air nozzle that blows compressed air I'll shoot some into the mirror as well.
