 Did not use the car for a week...this morning tried to start the car and could not start but still had lights. Tried a couple times but it started but Transmission Fault /Malfunction came flashing and the steering became extremely heavy. The last time I drove it the CD changer for no reason started to make noises like its changing a CD...but I was listening to the radio. It happened this morning too...might be inter-related.In the shop now
Any of you guys experienced this?

Sounds like you might need a software upgrade to fix the problem. How many miles on the car? What dealer are you using ? Good luck

I think you must have run the battery down sounds like the cd player didnt shut down , you can drain a new fully charged battery in 1 day if it is drawing power for a device because the whole car is "on" not sleeping BTDT !!

I did that once too, I left a Zune (mp3 player) charger cord plugged into one of the back seat outlets and the car wouldn't start the next morning. Jumped the car and all problems went away. You can clear up the active steering warning (if you have it) by completly turning the steering wheel the full L/R radius. The next time you start the car it (should) go away. On the otherhand maybe you do need a SW upgrade but I haven't had a single problem w/ a dead battery since that one occurance.
Good luck!

Got my car back and was caused by Low Battery Voltage draw because of MPM failure. Replaced MPM and Battery.
