I just talked with "my" dealer and he informed me that BMW just mandated that there will be a price increase of all BMW's except the X3 starting Jan 2004. Anyone else hear of this? I wanted to get my 545i in March after the winter months and would need to order very soon, but according to the dealer, I would be stuck paying the extra $700.00 for the 545i. If BMW is increasing MSRP pricing and not invoice, that is just fine - I have no problem telling the dealer I will not be paying them the increase as this is just giving the dealers more "wiggle" room. Nevertheless, if this is true, this is bull$hit.

I am anxiously waiting to hear back from you guys.

Thanks!

Looks like it's true. Follow the link below. The $700 does not bother me that much but what bothers me is the potential of BMW raising prices every three months to adjust for the Dollar/Euro exchange rate. If the Dollar keeps going down and BMW keeps adjusting for it there could be 2 or 3 more price increases including an increase for MY 2005 by the time I take delivery in September or October 2004.

Looks like this is only on base MSRP, not options or packages, though?
