My Ride: 06 530Xi w/ M-Sport Package 07 335i Cabriolet w/ M-Sport body kit

Toronto Canada:

2006 530Xi with M-Sport package (M Aerodynamic Package, M Multi-Function Leather Sport Steering Wheel, (Deletes heated steering wheel), Sport Seats, Anthracite Roof Liner, 18" M Double-Spoke Alloy Wheels - Style 135M, (Deletes compact spare tire), High-Gloss Shadow Line. ), premium package (Exterior Auto Dimming Mirror, Interior Auto Dimming Mirror, Through Load with Ski Bag, Heated Seats Rear, Park Distance Control (Includes visual display), Logic7 Sound System), Electric Rear Sunshade w/Manual Side Sunshades , 6 CD changer

Price as of April 2006 was $82,500 CAD less 5% discount = $78,375 CAD (approx. $68,000 USD based on $1.00 CAD = $0.87 USD) plus freight, PDI (pre-delivery inspection & prep - a dealer mandated ripe off), gas consumption tax (a government ripe off ), AC tax ($100, another government ripe off), and license fee (less than $100 per year).

In Canada we pay a little more income tax than in the US but medical care is totally free.

I guess you missed the joke. You ever seen Team America: World Police? I was making a reference to that, as a joke. Hence the little laughing icon.

We have had no price rises here in UK since I bought my car in April.

But if I were to buy it again tomorrow, it would cost 15% more (in US dollars) because the US dollar has weakened that much against the Pound Sterling (and a similar trend against the Euro) over the last 8 months.

More figures which make the entire exercise pointless.

Conspiracy theory. I actually heard of this for the first time a few weeks back. Buildings were wired to implode at the same time the airplanes hit them. Do I believe it? No. Plausible? Yes.

I live in denmark with a lot of taxes!!

I have a 520i 2,2 7/2004 and its fully equipped with: El- Beige dakota Leather, seatheater, orig. auto-glasssunroof, 2 zone clima, Professional Navigation, rainsensors, tirepressure control, shadowline, Xenon with adaptiv, and so on ...

New price incl. taxes around if the dollar is one dollar = 5,5 DKR = 163.636 USD !!
This is indeed ridiculous. I assume that you have a very high VAT and some special tax on cars?

In Germany, beginning with January, 1st, the VAT has reached 19%. And a base 550i is around 75K USD.

I wonder why the (German) car prices in the US are so low. Big homogenous market? More competition?

Simply a big market, that means quantity, that means competition, that means lower price. Healthy competition!

EU has an obscure delay on this matter and that's not a good sign for us.

you don't miss a thing, here we produce most CO2 in the world. I would trade my V8 for fresh air + nicer people.

I wish BMW upgrade my E60 to hydro-5.
