My Ride: 2004 530i, steelgray, step, premium, cold package, xenons
My 2204 530i suddenly developed the dreaded creaking door syndrome, confirmed by being able to eliminate it by lowering the window just a tad. I cleaned all the felt at the top of the doors with the BMW silicone remover intended to be used prior to applying Carbaflo. I saw the former at the dealership and thought it would be good to have on hand, so purchased it -- it was less than $10.
After cleaning the seals the car is quiet again. No lubricant was applied. As all of this was done only two days ago, it remains to be seen if the fix holds. If not, the next step would be to have the dealer install the newer and better door seals.
