My Ride: 2005 545i (build date 04/05) silver grey metallic/black leather/anthracite maple/6 speed Steptronic/sport package/cold weather package/premium sound package/active cruise control/navigation system/HUD/Sirius satellite radio/comfort seats/rear electric sunshade/rear airbags/rear seat heat/fold down rear seats
Has anybody had a sudden failure of their rear power sunscreen. Mine suddenly won't close. I can hear the relays clicking when I push the switch. It started right after I went through a car wash so I assumed that the staff had done something to it. Then a day later it worked fine. Now the problem has returned with only days left on the warranty. Is this a common problem and easily fixed on a 2005 545i?

My Ride: My Bimmer's info is in my sig, so I'll tell you about my garage toy. It's a 1997 Porsche Boxster. The car is black on black and I have replaced every single thing on the car (interior, exterior, drivetrain, suspension) except for the sheet metal and the convertible top (both of which will be next I guess). I love my Pcar more than any other car I have ever owned and will probably keep it for the rest of my life.
Porsche. There is no substitute.
I'm unsure if it's easily fixed but get it into the shop quick and let them sort it out.
And whatever you do, stop taking that beautiful car to the car wash! Wash it by hand yourself and treat your paint right.
