POWER STEERING PROBLEM

Got a warning this AM of a steering failure! Checked the power steering reservoir to find it low. My car is a 550i, 9/05 build date, with 3,000 miles on the clock. Any one experienced a power steering leak? Anyone know if the pump uses ATF, or a special fluid?

Does it actually leaks, or was it a false warning? Do you get the warning after adding fluid?

It's a leak or a delivery/factory misshap, but a very serious problem!
