We had only 32 C and no problems either (with the EU standard auto-AC).
PS. My car has now seen both -32 C and + 32 C, works perfectly each way

My Ride: 530i 6 speed
I just drove home from NJ and got into a huge backup on I-95 (6 car accident). After ~ 20 min standstill on I-95, the car started to slowly increase the fan speed and to just blow warm air.
It was getting pretty hot in the car (~ 90 outside). We opened all windows and suffered......
Correct me if I am wrong here, but this is a complete joke. The Hyundai or whatever next to me has cold air and the A/C of the $60,000 BMW stops working. Ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry, had to vent.

My Ride: 2005 545i with everything
Well I can fairly confidently state that I live in as hot a summer climate as anyone on the forum. It was 114 degrees F here this week ( that's 45.5 celcius for our European/Canadian friends) . My A/C was cold and strong at all times. Mind you it is dry and not humid here.
My old E46--now THAT thing had a crappy A/C. It's something about German cars. My wifes' Range Rover ironically has a great A/C. Iv'e never had better A/C than my wifes' previous car-- a Chrysler Town and County Limited. You could make icecubes in that thing.

It regularly hits the mid-high 30's where I live during the summer and I've not had any problems with the AC in my car. Granted, I've only had her for 1 summer and the winter's are very mild. Maybe if your car is used to the cold weather, when it hits abnormal hot weather it doesn't cope?
I remember seeing a photo posted on this board from a member in Sydney who happened to be driving around on New Years Day when it hit 45 degrees celcius and don't recall him being unhappy with the AC.
