As fas as the interior goes, truffle brown seemed like an ideal match although I realize there are also a lot of mixed opinions about this color in particular. It's also a dual color trim instead of a monocolor (like black, beige or gray), so similar to auburn
I'm afraid I have to disagree with you as a friend of mine does have the truffle brown interior and it *does* have black on the center console as well as on the armrests in the doors. That made me decide to take the truffle brown too as opposed to e.g. beige or grey. I haven't seen the amethyst but was told it was a flat tone compared to the truffle brown. I agree that other plastics trims like the parcel shelf and the floor are truffle brown as well.
Hey, I noticed you're from Belgium too?!! Where do you reside?
Cheers

Jet black - Auburn
Wife wanted Titanium and I was going to get it until I saw my Jet black with Auburn interior and only the options I wanted. Originally wanted an M3 with the similar interior but wife said NOOO?
Wife still points out the Titanium but I still stick by my decision, except would have got SMG.
I do agree that the silver grey and titanium show off the shape the best though.
I went with Silver Grey the second time around after having owned a Titanium Grey. The Titanium Grey to my eye often times looked dull?and the Silver Grey seems to have a bit more depth and vibrance to it (to me).
But the real reason I went with the Silver Grey was because after having driven the two colors back to back (equipped identically) it was immediately apparent that the Silver Grey was quite a bit faster and handled better when pushed to the limit. I found this to be true when comparing all the colors to Silver Grey too?
The latest R&T tested all E60 paint colors. Despite the weight difference you note, Black Saphire is by far the fastest color (about 3/10 faster 0 - 60). This is due to new additives in the "saphire" which drastically reduce the coefficeint of friction and allow the car to slice throught the air better.

My Ride: #1: 2004 545i; 6-speed manual; Sport Package; Mystic Blue with a gray leather interior and Anthracite wood; CWP; Logic 7.
#2: 2010 535xi Touring; Automatic.
Nobody seems to like Mystic Blue. But I like it. My sales assistant and the owner of the dealer commented today how my mystic with gray interior looks great. Of course, they tell everybody that. Orient looks classic, but it can look black in bad light or when wet, so I prefer my Mystic.
I sure don't see many in Mystic. It's a little provocative, in that it doesn't just sit back and blend in. Even in the rain, it has a little glow to it. So there.

Hi, I am new here. Took delivery of a 535d last Friday.
I chose orient blue with beige leather interior to stand out from the 'grey mass'

2005 545i ED Jet Black/Beige
Tired of Titanium Silver.
Silver Grey is nice, but there are a lot of them out there.
I like the car in white; but white is for girls, vans, and maybe a few guys in Miami.
Orient Blue/Beige is a very nice combo - but no blue cars for me, thank you.
The car looks best in Black (real, non-metallic Jet Black); it just looks fierce. I know, cleaning is a bitch; oh well.
Interior is tough. By far, I think the Beige interior is the nicest. Unfortunately BMW still has a black dash assembly and steering wheel with beige interior; if you look at Mercedes, you'll see it is all beige, or two toned in beige/tan/sand cars - much nicer.
Black interior is my second choice, though it doesn't come close to the Beige, though it is much easier to maintain.
I have always hated grey interiors in cars. Any car. Period.
The Auburn is way too orange. Combine it with the black dash, and whatever exterior color, and there is way too much going on.
So I ended up with Black/Beige. Frankly, I think Orient Blue/Beige goes better; but I just went with my favorite exterior and favorite interior. Black/Beige does strike me as a bit late 80's, but that's ok.

Jet black on black...I think it does the perfect justice to the lines of the car. Noticable when you look close, but not enough to distract (IMHO).
Black interior just looks better longer too...I like the lighter colors but black looks cleaner day in and day out.
