If you look at the side of the car its fairly flat compared to a coupe. It also has a considerable amount of surface area for sidewinds to smack against. This is one of the design flaws of this car and there are very few. From the pictures I've already seen of the F10 it looks like it has been resolved.
I think this explains it.

WHy do these threads with speed always turn into a moral lesson on how we should not speed excessively etc. Saying that a million times is not going to change anyones behaviors so why bother. Why not keep the thread on topic.
It was in regards to handling and fact of the matter is some handling features only can be felt/analyzed at 100 plus speeds. I dont speed barely at all but have twice taken it up to high speeds to see how it handled. Both times were wiht the OEM 18s and runflats. With no wind I found the car to be very stable at 130 however after that it was about to take off and definetly felt the lift come into play. If you look at the car there is not a lot of downforce created. I still do not get the wind issue. I really have trouble steering sometimes when it is very windy.
Just amazes me that this many generations of bmw's and this car would have any of these issues.

My issue with the aero is that at high speeds the car generates too much lift. At least my 545 does. Front end starts to get light at speeds I won't mention for fear of a verbal lashing by some posters. Anyway, I am curious if others that experienced this in stock form saw the issue get better with some of the front air dams that are available after market?

I understand the lightness feeling...and it's not even at that high a speed. I wonder if the m-tech and a splitter would have any effect?
