Of the issues you have stated, only #3 is a problem I have noticed. I guess it's just the design of the door/window/windshield? I really like having my windows down when the weather permits, usually spring and fall, but not in the e60. If I crack the window even two or three inches in the morning, I'll have *Kramer hair by the time I get to the office, and that's averaging probably 35 mph. My 325 coupe was not like that at all. Then again, we are talking about a luxury car, so I imagine they made most design considerations leaning toward the windows being up most of time.

The window issue is the same with most 4 door sedans.
The pillar seperating the two windows is pushed towards the
front of the car so that you can have 4 doors.
The doors on coupes are considerably longer therfore the pillar
is further behind your head and the air goes into the
back seat instead of hitting you in the face.
There is a solution of course.....
Just open the rear adjacent window to the same level or 1 inch
lower and the wind will go into the back seat.
I know this because i'm a smoker and i have the window open all the time.

I have not noticed number 1 at all. I was driving this weekend in heavy winds in New York and my 550 did not feel unstable or very affected by the crosswinds, which were substantial. I'll have to check on numbers 2 and 3.

My issue with the aero is that at high speeds the car generates too much lift. At least my 545 does. Front end starts to get light at speeds I won't mention for fear of a verbal lashing by some posters. Anyway, I am curious if others that experienced this in stock form saw the issue get better with some of the front air dams that are available after market?

i'm not sure that this has anything to do with it, but this used to happen to me when i had 16"rims. Once i got 18" 245s front and 275s rear, no more problem.
Do you have 17s?

Yes I can feel that the car is not very good in the winds, I always felt that I would sway around with the wind but never thought is was an issue but it is, the car sims to be comtrolled by the wind. And about the windows being down, I do get slapped in the fce with a unch of wind, I always put my back windows down, you are right on the money with this post. I can felll all these flaws with the car.

WHy do these threads with speed always turn into a moral lesson on how we should not speed excessively etc. Saying that a million times is not going to change anyones behaviors so why bother. Why not keep the thread on topic.
It was in regards to handling and fact of the matter is some handling features only can be felt/analyzed at 100 plus speeds. I dont speed barely at all but have twice taken it up to high speeds to see how it handled. Both times were wiht the OEM 18s and runflats. With no wind I found the car to be very stable at 130 however after that it was about to take off and definetly felt the lift come into play. If you look at the car there is not a lot of downforce created. I still do not get the wind issue. I really have trouble steering sometimes when it is very windy.
Just amazes me that this many generations of bmw's and this car would have any of these issues.
