in California, people put it behind the windshield as well, except it still doesn't make it legal because the plate has to be (i believe) ~12 inches or lower from the ground. what about in the UK?

I was shocked as well as normally i dont get along with police but that day they where giving tips on how to get out of tricky situations with the british transport police as i dont have my number plate on the front bumper (i have it displayed on the windscreen instead)
i usually just say i just had my bumper painted & it's curing...(because it has a clear bra so it always looks perfect and will never have rock chips!)
not an issue when i travel out of my home state because they can only give a warning as i am passing threw!

so let us in on some of those tips because most of us here in the states don't rock the front plate either including myself.

What's with the M badge on the back of your car? The police probably thought this is an M5

The other day i had the Police Pull me over while i was parking in a car park, they came out of the riot van and surrounded my car like i was some drug dealer, one of the officer came up to the drivers side window and this is what he said "Can i please, please, please sit on the drivers seat" LOL
Then they started taking pictures sitting in the drivers seat and asked me how old i was and called me a lucky sod as this is my first car
Have any of you's ever had police coming up to you..???

Imagine being being pulled over by one of these or maybe a high speed chase...
