Thanks. I have the anthracite headliner in the X5. I didn't see this option listed in the brochure and will ask next week.
If you need now badly, Go for it.
If I were you, I will wait for 2009 model if it is coming out for sure in Feb/Mar 2008 like this year.
I ordered mine in Jan 2007 and I was in the first batch to receive.
Anyway GOODLUCK.

I should mention, I'm a fan of the black interior. So, I'm looking at dark poplar wood trim and black leather. I currently have an black sapphire X5 with black leather interior. I love the look of the black paint but it's lots of work to keep clean! I hate spending time on washing, claying, polishing, and waxing, only to have it rain the next day and look dirty right away. I'm hoping the PG will not be as bad as you suggest. I believe Carbon Black is only available on the 550?
Sorry for the confusion, but I think Platinum Grey will be *easier* to care for than Carbon Black, Black Sapphire, Jet Black, or Monaco Blue.

You might also look at light poplar with a black interior. The dark polar looks too dark against a black interior, IMO. I like Black interiors as well, but needed a change after 6 years of black interiors.

Carbon Black is only available on the 550 ZSP in the US. In Canada and Europe, it is only available in conjunction with the M-Sport Package, which basically the same as the 550 Sport, except you can apply it to any model, not just the 550.

It is a priority one option, which is not listed in the brochure. You can only get it by custom ordering the car. It will set you back $500 list/$455 invoice.

Other priority one options include ventilated seats with perforated nasca leather like the 7er has.

Went Platinum Gray, Black Nasca, and Anthracite headliner. I really like how dark grays and headlights/turn signals/wheels contrast plus it's easier than a black. I like saddle/natural brown interiors but not the way BMW makes them two-tone with black carpets, center console, and doors.

That is why you have to go with ALL Biege / Gray interior (Floor,Pillars and Roof).
OR Black interior with Anthracite (headliner and pillar liners.)
Otherwise the interior turns into TRI-COLOR (Black flooring and Dash Board, Gray color Pillars and your choice color leather)

WELL, I've had them both. I had the 535XI-2008 Space Gray with black interior from April till October 08, my birthday. It was bought back by BMW NA and I bought the Platinum Gray with Black interior fully loaded the second time around. I like the Space Gray but I love the Platinum Gray. Here are some picts to help you decide:

I'm trying to decide between platinum gray or space gray for a '08 535xi. The space gray looks somewhat dull to me, but it's the color I originally thought I wanted. After seeing the darker platinum gray on a demo I'm torn. Anyone else have this problem?
Did ask the same Q here.

Still going for the Space Grey, I don't like washing my car every week.

Note the 17" wheels.

I also like comfort and common sense.

So why did they buy your first car back?

I've modified the potential order to include the anthracite headliner. Thanks for the info, I'm looking at getting the following:
2008 535xi, PG, dark poplar wood trim, black leather, sport pkg, auto, pdc, night vision, hud, nav, cold weather pkg, premium pkg, heated rear seats, split folding read seats, rear sun shades, logic7, ipod, and hd radio, and anthracite headliner.

The dealership warned me with the hud it's rougly 3k to replace the windshield. Ouch!
