uh, don't do it. Too many miles for you to "wonder" how the other person treated the car in all that time.

160.000 km is around 99.000 miles.....

It's a risky deal, at around 200.000 km you need to change the partical filter which is around 2.000 euro.... the only way to be safe, is that the car has been 100% regularly serviced at an official BMW dealer, and it is also important that the car only had 1 owner... it's risky either way.

Well this all depends on the price of course.

As for the reliability/longevity of the car, the 2004 was the first production for the e60 and although cars get a bad rap for their first year of production I think the 04 is a solid bet, being that it uses the same drivetrain from the e39's. If the price is right, I would say it is a safe bet (all assuming the service has been good to date.)

The 2004 was an awesome I6 and rated as one of the most dependable BMW engines ever made. However, that doesn't mean the driver of your 2004 was..... =p

Thank you for your opinion.

The car only had 1 owner.
The car has been regularly serviced at an official BMW dealer.
Never had an accident- crash before.
It's price is so appropriate because of crisis.

I am planning to make an expert evaluation at BMW Service.
If they say OK, going to buy it

150.000 km's on our E60 now after five years.

It runs as a brand new one!

The engine is strong and efficient and could do many miles if the owner has taken good care of it.

160.000 km's on nothing on a I6 3.0 L diesel Just do it, if the car looks well maintained!

Does it come with a warranty?? If not, DON'T BUY IT!! Perhaps don't buy it also simply due to high mileage! Good Luck with your decision!

dosent make me feel good that all these E60 owners dont have confident in a high milage BMW. Sounds like the vast majority of you guys are saying dump them at 100k! 100K shouldnt be anything on cars now-a-days, especially a BMW.

+1 i wouldn't even consider it without warranty, something small will cost alot to fix, the car has high mileage, but the engine should do 200,000 miles without much problems.
