Try just holding the start/stop button down when turning off the car -- that'll work much better than the two-press trick...

That's a new one I didn't know. It should go in the tips thread.

Good tip on the CA Rudy. Another rookie question on CA. When I was taking delivery, I was given two keys and then walked through various features on the car, including setting seat position, radio stations etc. I asked the sales guy and he didn't know the answer (surprise!) but if both key fobs are in range, how does the car determine which one to use for seat setting etc? The delivery process was unique but what about when my wife is in the car with me and she has her key fob in her purse, who's key is picked up for moving seats and steering wheel to preferred positions? Of course the easy answer is don't give her a key!

Congrats, my child was born 3 years ago yesterday and reading posts like this makes me want to move to the 550!

PLEASE DONT POST ANY MORE GLOWING REPORTS - IT IS VERY DAMAGING TO 545 OWNERS

Cheers,

p.s - Cowboys looking good at the half!

When you do your setup, your key should be in the ignition.....and same thing when she does hers. Once the keys are setup, the car will adjust to which ever key is with the person who opens the driver's door.

Did that make sense....

It did and needless to say we did not have my key in the ignition for the set up, but will try that to make sure everything is saved correctly. But I still don't get how the car know I'm the one unlocking the car. Now if I actually pull the key fob out and use it to unlock the car, then yes I can see it. But if we both walk up the the car with key fobs and I use my finger to press the CA spot on the door handle to unlock, the car really has no way of knowing if it was me or my wife unlocking, if that makes sense. Maybe it can tell directionally which key is by the drivers door when unlocking...
