You can input what ever code you like. Read your cars instruction book. It's in there.

My Ride: 2007 custom Range Rover, 2005 745li, FULL custom 1950 mercury, chopped and flame throwers, 1930 model A rat rod, nasty little bastard!!
soon to be custom bmw 550 all white and black.
Ya I figured out the bluetooth pairing thing, you can infact make up ANY code you want as long as they both match......works awesome, phonebook transfered and took the car out last night for a good drive and am soooo happy. driving in sport mode and paddle shifting is awesome.
my biggest deal is how to set the seat to feel comfortable. haha
I love how the seat has the back tilt adjust like my 7 series does, where you can bring the seat up then CURVE it to your back and head, if that makes sense.
thanks everyone for your kind words,,,,, anything i should know or watch out for on these e60s?

On a 535I yep...
Transmission slam 6sp, step , or SAT s drive or x drive
Waste gate failures
Turbo Failures
Waste gate chatter/pinging
Fogging on the inside of the headlight clusters
Rapid batt drain. if not driven a least once every 7 days , or batt swap at 3.5 years.
random Electrical gremlins
Depending on build date in 07/08 lag from the bmw software "patch" March 08 build is the cut off for the old ecu package that gets lag with the v29.2 -34.2 35.1v software.33.2 -current is better with regards to turbo lag but still not up to pre 29.2.
And the bane of all N54 motors right now... High Pressure Fuel Pump failures OR HPFP's, if it happens once it most likely will happen again. If you have not had it happen cross your fingers it does not happen.
Word of the wise ONLY fill up with 93 octane "Top Tier" rated gas, check BMW web page if you don't know the different brands ( BP is not one).
It is the first thing BMW service techs will ask you if they fail.

Forgot some other issues that creep up on 535i's
Recently there have been a rash of injector failures, it may just be one of the 6 but the cars run ruff at cold start.
Fuel pressure sensors
Cracked Wiper fluid reservoirs
iPhone connection issues ( not the blue tooth but with the "Y" cable in center arm rest), this happened with the 3.01 apple update. Also the Phones wont charge with the cable since they changed the charge port on the connectors to match the micro usb standard. If you have the snap in adapter you can still charge, it's just the 6sp package usb/ipod connector that is having the issue
I know it sounds like a horror stories, but for the most part most people don' t have issues with them. These are just the ones people on here have typically posted with.
