No problems in 1 year. It's really a great car. IMHO, the best car for the $$$. LCI FTW.
Current mileage: 8900 mi
Out of pocket costs: early oil change @ 7500 mi
Kudos:
I6TT - I'm personally not a fan of turbos but this motor is a torquey bastard, 2nd gear from 1K - 7K is smooth Really a great motor. Jury is still out on longevity. So far mine has been flawless.
Comfort seats - perfect and comfy, no signs of wear unlike my 3-series - the bolster always showed some wear no matter how careful I was
Heated steering wheel - like heated seats this is now a must have for cold climate weather
Logic-7 - I spend more time than I like sitting in traffic. The L-7 produces very acceptable performance that isolates the surroundings. I get some of my best ideas sitting in traffic at one with the E60 jamming to a groove.
LCI shortcut buttons - I'm not a fan of i-drive.
Comfort Access - open, push button, drive - brilliant
Minor Annoyances:
No RH mirror reverse tilt down adjustment
No ability to retain the PDC volume adjustment
Poor layout of the i-drive menu structure and menu navigation in general
After 6 years of driving the 3-series, this is my first 5-series. I doubt I can go back to the 3-series again. The materials and construction of the E60 is better and worth the extra cost.

This one minor issue has always kind of surprised me. It seems like it would be such a simple thing for the car to allow -- that you could control exactly 'how' or 'where' you want the auto-down-in-reverse mirror to position itself when you put the car in reverse. You should be able to set that to your personal need or preference based on where you are most likely going to park your car in your day to day driving. Not all of us need to park next to curbs ...
Minor quip though.

Actually you can, it's the same switch that toggles between left & right mirrors......move it left, no dip when in reverse.....or is it the other way around.
***another cool little trick, set the memory position of M2 with the position of the passenger side mirror you would like it in when parallel parking
Now drop a tune in that bad boy already
Happy motoring

Nice right up Obd!
Just a question, does anyone know which HPFP we got (535i LCI's)? Is that determined by our build date?
Seems like the 3 series gets more HPFP issues, and I'm just trying to figure out if there are any differences in build compared to the 335.

HPFP's are the same whether it's 135i, 335i, 335xi, 535i, 535xi, 535xiT, or X6. The 535i has a bigger intercooler and different intercooler plumbing from the 335i. Doubt this makes a difference though. Personally I think it's people who use cheap gas, or have scewed it up because of a tune. Plus the internet is a poor sample size since most do not have problems and you never see those reports. BMW has increased the warranty to 10 years for the HPFP.

haha one thing I never do is brag about my car not having any issues! That's like the biggest jinx, but anyhow, I hope you contrinue to have goodluck with it!
Oh, I know. I'm not superstitious or anything, but it always does happen right after you say you're glad it didn't happen. So I guess I'll say that in the ten months and 6K that the E60's been driven, it's been about as good as it can get. Somehow the exterior has taken the bulk of the damage with scratches and chips left and right. And I don't even know how they got there.
