This 6-week waiting period feels like forever but today is the day, I picked up my 1st ever BMW from the dealer. My SA showed me the car and I did the normal look around inspection. Skipping a test drive before taking over the vehicle was my mistake. As soon as I was 2 blocks away from the dealership I already felt something wrong with a little bumpy ride even on slow speed. Got off the car and checked all tires, saw a nail (actually it was a screw with screw head out which caused the bumping) on the one from front passenger side.

I was a little worried cause I declined the tire and rim insurance, but called my SA anyway, who were busy with another delivery at the time. The manager came out and took a look, and sent me to the service dept a mile away, where I got a priority treatment and had the tire replaced right away. The new tire wasn't shined but I won't complain at that point simply over cosmetic look (plus after reading all those scary stories about some service centers, and I don't mean this particular one, caused dents and scratch while fixing the vehicle.) My SA actually followed up with me a few times to make sure I was all right, which I appreciated a lot.

So now I had the baby sitting in my garage with a peaceful mind.

 

Congratulations. Hopefully they didn't charge for the extra screw. (pun intended)

On delivery day, I actually (and stupidly) kerbed my front right wheel after driving no more than 10 km. (Although it was a very very tight street and well I can make excuses, right).

Happily BMW replaced it at the VDC with a brand new wheel.
