Last fall we were with my wife in Venice and car was parked outside hotel, while we were checking in. I went out to take something from car and noticed that all windows were down! What the h..ll!?!? If You want to do that with key remote You have to push button whole time, otherwise windows stop there. Could button be pushed sevelral seconds in my pocket? Or was that cremlin like SueBMS's car have?

Skaffa

PS never happend since.

the only time that i have had this happen is when the keys are in my poket and i accendily open it that way, that or if im bent over or lifting something heavy they have a tendency to activate the truck but not the alarm. i really think they need to make the trunk release button seperate from the panic button. would be so much nicer not to set off the alarm when i go to open the trunk sometimes. lol. one guy said "r2d2 i've found you" when i set it off once that was funny.

It happened once to me too. I have noticed that sometimes my key accidentally activates something when it is in my pocket. When I was under my car working on my B&B, I kept hearing noises and wondered what the car was doing all by itself. When I got out from under, all the windows were open. I know that my gym shorts were tight around the key when I was squirming around under the car.

A guy with tight gym shorts working under a Bimmer, who are you trying to attract?

I thought it was just an isolated incident, but it seems that alot of us have had the problems with the trunk open Hope is just a new car thing

OMG this is so serious! I didn't have such problems but imo it's a pain in the a**. Don't even want to think what could happen if you leave once, some really expensive stuff in the trunk. I dunno a laptop, maybe important paperwork and so on....If i where you i would get that to the dealer and make a huge scandal...well not that huge but certainly make the dealer run like hell to fix it!

A few weeks back, visited a friend in the evening and got really late.

When I came back, the boot was wide open and my keys were on the table all the time!!! And the worst thing was that I had my laptop with important work in the boot as I always do.

Luckily, everything was still in the boot when I returned.

At that time, I dismissed it all as an accident, however after reading this thread, I'm feeling kind of weird leaving my laptop in the boot...

But do I have an option? Damnn NO!

I have to be out and about and if I leave the laptop in the back seat, I will for sure have a broken window

Seen a few posts on here about owners saying that the trunk on their E60 been opening by itself.? Went to get in the car to go to work early this morning and? found my 545's trunk wide open.? Car was locked, and I know the trunk was shut last night as I check on the car every night? before I go to bed, but there it was, wide open.? Alarm had not gone off, and I'm 99% sure that no one had been playing with the key....? ? For other owners who have had this happen was it something that could be fixed through a s/w update?

I have a similar problem with my 530xiT (E61) but have traced it to my unknowingly sqeezing the tailgate/trunk release button on the key.
