Persistant misfire cyl 3. 06 530 N52
I'm loving my 2006 530XI. it has 160k on the clock. I did all 6 spark plugs, which helped quite a bit. I am having a persistent code 29CF Combustion misfires, cyl 3 still. I switched the coils, hoping the misfire would move to cyl 2 along with the coil, but no such luck. It runs well, and idles fairly decent, it kinda "dips and catches itself" every minute or so. If i clear the code it takes about 200 miles to come back.
I know the coil is everyone's first thought, but i'm wondering what my next move is? Injector? Valvetrain?
It does not use coolant or oil, so i'm confident in the head gasket.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

I had that same problem a long time ago.
Switch out the fuel injectors (like you did with the coils) and you will find your solution!
It's very easy to remove the injector rail and make the switch. You might not even have to replace the two rubber rings that seal each injector.
Good luck!

Replace just one and see how the engine runs for awhile. Then, decide whether you should get all six cleaned later.
I replaced all six injectors and it turned out to be a waste of money. The engine didn't perform any better.
