Ok so for a couple of months my PDC has not worked. It started with working and then not working to them working again and eventually just stopped. Since it is just a convenience feature, I really didn't care, except for the fact that its is terrible annoying every single time I start the car the car notifies me of the malfunction. Can you please let me know what can possible be wrong with the PDC? I have a 04 545i w/88K miles.

If I am not mistaken it could be anything from a bad sensor(most likely) to a bad or faulty MPM. I would say the dealer is the way to go.

I was dreading you were going to say the stealer. I'll just deal with the issue.

A friend of mine was able to locate the faulty sensor in his '03 by listening, it made a buzzing sound from closeby. Ordered it through the independent specialist, retracted the rear bumper somewhat, replaced sensor and no more issues...
As for a module malfunction, check your booth for water (lower trunk area, in the spare wheel well). The PDC module is located at the bottom towards the rear in the mold, most vulnerable location when there is moisture in the car...
Good luck!

That's promising news... Be sure to let us know if you were able to fix the problem by exchanging it.
