I love their cars when working efficiently, but in the long run BMW could give to two shits about its customers, because we are addicted to this crack which they market as the Ultimate Driving Machine. They know as much as we bitch and complain about their practices, many of us will never leave the fold, and if we do, we will be back in a few. For this reason they will always try to butt rape us whenever possible...
OP, You should try another dealership. I too used to go to BMW Manhattan, but I just got fed up of their crap. Going forward I will try BMW of Westchester or Habberstad BMW.

BMW of Manhattan is garbage!!! Go to Bayside or Park Ave BMW in Jersey, 15mins off the GWB. They give you a loaner car but they will hold $500 on your credit card for 5-7days then return it back for the loaner (some new policy crap). Good Luck!

From what I was told there were warranty changes and how its conducted. This was told to me by my Dealer Mgt Dir after complaining about my taillight seperating inside the light. They qouted with parts and labor $1000.00. Told me it was caused by an external force. Not true, and if so, there would be some kind of marking on the outside lens. Bottom line is, the dealer replaces it under warranty, sends it to NA and there is someone there that decides if it is or not. If it is, all is ok, if not, they don't pay the dealer and they are out of the money. This is what was explained to me. They also said not even the curtiousy claim, now they try to get at least 50% from you...
So now that you have paid them for the solenoid repair and it's not fixed what's next?

Whatever the problem is I'm sure it's Somethin that's covered by the warranty because It seems like it's a mechanical problem and not a physical damage problem. Secondly someone is going to have to sit Down and explain to me how could such an "important part" (solenoids), which basically regulates how much turbo your car gets, HOW THE F*%K COULD MY CAR OPERATE AT 100%, did all the test, recalls, road test by BMW specialist and no one suspected that my car wasn't getting enough turbo, working to it's full potential or whatever that shit does. According to them, it was never replaced after the accident before I owned the car. IF IT WORKED BEFORE WITH NO ERRORS, PUT BACK MY OLD SHIT AND LET'S SEE IF THE ERROR COMES BACK! Only after they find the problem could I make such a case. Lol. I'm not paying for that shit man. No way. Just playing it cool till my car works. At the end of the day it's all about the customer.
PS. I took my car to this dealer for the 1st time a month or so ago to have my electronic water pump repaired which was covered under the warranty NO PROBLEM. My advisor called me while I was in FL and said "sir your car is ready to be picked up" this was great for me because I was returning to NY that same day. 30mins later he calls back "sir ammmm one of the drivers put a scratch on your front bumper and we're goig to send it to the shop to have them repaint your entire front bumper" This was a blessing to me at the time because I was going to put on my body kit the following week (still not on) and I would be able to sell a "like new, freshly painted" front bumper. Lol. So they kinda owe me because I never bitch about anything so far. But that's about to change soon. Lol
