A few months back my other half knocked off my cupholder cover. I took it to BMW and they said it would run me about 350 to replace. I decided to just glue it back on and was content with that. Since then she has knocked it off at least a dozen times so I keep the glue in the glove department which leaked all over...another topic.
So today she knocked it right out on to the street somewhere and Its completely lost. I built a relationship with that damn cup cover and I'm ill miss it so.
In anycase...has anybody ran into this problem and DIY'd a replacement? If not can someone sell me their cup cover?
Btw..Toronto, where I am visiting now loves my car! Since gas is like a rediculous 6.5 dollars a gallon and cars are like 35% more in cost. I guess my car is equivelent to a Lamborghini in the states. Thanks again to everyone that helped me. I will be headed back to the states to complete my project.

Have a look on realoem and try getting the part yourself and fitting it? It looks like its part 5 which can be bought separately?

Good luck. I tried to get "parts" from the dealer and they only sell the whole assembly.

The chuckle I liked was when my GF busted the wedge nut for the negative battery cable. BMW doesn't sell the bolt - but they'll sell a whole new assembly for $300. The VW dealership down the road sells the wedge bolt (used on the Jetta) for $9. Alternates can always be had - just takes time tracking them down.

I found a used one (the whole unit)on Ebay for 50$ shipped. Be patient one will pop up. Try Car-parts.com they sell parts to body shops and will sell you one too.
2 screws and 2 mins later and your done. I make sure its closed before I open the pass side door.
