Just got this warning (on my 2004 530) "Passenger Restraint System: Fault in the Passenger Restraint System affecting airbag, belt tensioner or belt force limiter. Continue to wear safety belt"

A couple of months ago I took the car to the dealer in connection with a recall on the front passeneger seat occupant detection mat.

Anyone else had this, and could the the current problem be related to the recall on the front passeneger seat occupant detection mat ?

If you are so luckily in recall list, back to dealer ASAP to fix it.

Hmm I got this warning after removing the battery to prevent water from collecting in the battery compartment, and I still haven't been for the warranty recall. Maybe they'll reset it when the mat is changed.

Did BMWNA cover it under warranty - my warranty has expired ?

Do you know whether it's related to the recall on the front passeneger seat occupant detection mat ?

So were you able to clear/reset the warning message? Same thing just happened to me too. After removing the old dead battery and installing a new one, I got this warning too.

I've had the warning twice. The first time it was covered under the recall. The second time I had a "hairline" crack in my front crash sensor (i think its located in the front bumper). That repair cost me $470.

I get this warning twice and it goes away almost immediately after, should I be concerned as well?
