I forgot to mention, I have a 545 on order scheduled to land in Port Hueneme on Jan 18. That is why I am troubled to hear this problem on the 5 series

Happy Holiday

the light was off after couple seconds or so, right? if so, sad to say but i bet your dealer won't be able to detect anything . my dealer couldn't detect anything. well, my dealer couldn't do much anyway .

I bought my car from Vista Motors in Florida, I have not been impressed with their service either, I'm going to take the to Lauderdale Imports, I've used them before if it's fixable, they will figure it out.

Please do not worry about potential problems with IMO the finest car with four doors ever built. You are not going to regret your decision. This is light years ahead of its competition with regard to technology, the drivetrain is breath taking. This is my forth BMW and also the most expensive car that I have purchased, people like us are critical, hard to please and generally a royal pain in the a__. If you buy a car like a BMW, then you are most likely a picky kinda guy about what you drive. Enjoy the ride, and make your service adviser fart fire. I do..

Lifting my self up with the side of the seat and BARELY touching the seat and that was enough weight to turn that warning off.

i kind of remember my previous service advisor told me it's 115lbs.

My dealer, quoting BMWNA "after extensive testing", said 99# was the limit.
My 109# wife doesn't turn the airbag light off though, so this is probably wrong.
The 190# guy sitting in the seat, should always turn the light off...take a picture and bring it to the dealer.

99 lbs still seems like on the heavy side... considering teens who are still under 99 sit up front now. My sister 14 who I think is under 99 lbs but shes always in the front. Shouldnt the weight sensor be made like at 60 or 70lbs?

so 115lbs is more like it. i asked my service advisor what if there is an adult who is under 115lbs, sits in the front, got into an accident, airbag doesn't pop. who is going to responsible? he didn't know how to answer my question .
