Can we exchange interior parts such as, specifically, the trim on a center console of a post LCI which has the correct idrive controller cut out into a 2006 pre-lci ?

 

No it doesn't fit, the ashtray is different and the shifter cut out. If you want the new controller you have to cut the trim you have now. It is not hard I have done it and several others have done it as well.

I've already bought it on ebay, along with the front ashtray, and shifter console bezel - so will check it out anyway. They also provided the oddments tray, the 8mm/USB plug as well as the Y cable for Apple ... so it just might work. If not, then to cut is to cure...

They also still have the actual stick shift _ but not sure if I need./want it.
