I have a question if someone can help please.
I have a 2003 530i and had it since new and recently had it in the dealership for a new waterpump and battery. After picking it up tonight and parked it into my shed i had gone back to get something out the shed and noticed that the light beside P on the gear knob was still on after about 10 minutes and i have never taken much notice before. I had then unlocked and started put it in gear and then back in park turned it of and locked the car up and it was still on. After about 20 minutes i checked it and it was of ,is this normal is it just something that i have not noticed before?

Sounds normal. Search for "sleep" or sleep mode and you will come up with a number of posts discussing this.

Yes its normal to do this, as said when it goes off the car is in sleep mode, i think its 16 - 17 minutes. Start to worry if after 20 minutes it doesn't go off

This drove me insane when I first got mine, I obviously couldn't have managed to leave the car alone for more than 17 minutes without having to have a little go or a look lol
