Funny you mention paintball guns. There was a local story on the news. 3 or 4 kids decided it would be fun to paint ball cars at a random house. Well the lady looked outside when she heard it and caught them in the act. The kids jumped in the car and the lady chased them. The kids ran 2 red lights, on the 2nd red light they hit 2 trucks, killing a 13 year old and 2 others in the hospital.

Yes it is my fault for leaving it within reach. I was enraged at the situation not at my kid. He had fun doing it though thats for sure... by the time I heard the first shot fired to the time I ran to the garage, the chamber was empty so it was too late to stop him.
No cat problem... just a brain fart moment...
