I don't imagine the paintballs did any damage to the cars...but the actual paintball gun...as in a a metal barrel...as in banging against the cars and scratching the paint. Now THERE's your potential problem.

All 3 cars were in the garage were hit by random 5 year old fire.... I knew I should have put the paintball gun higher up on the shelf...

Friendly Fire, sucks in gaming, sucks in real life.

Betrayals are so satisfying sometimes in Halo.

I've never paintballed, but if it's sufficient force for people to say it hurts getting hit (which apparently they do) then I'm guessing it's maybe a similar force to a hailstone. Could easily produce dents I would think. Or am I way off and overestimating their power? I would have thought the paint itself was a water-based paint (otherwise it's wear-once-and-throw-away as far as whatever you wear to go paintballing).

Actually, your probably right about the force of the paintball denting the car. The paintball itself is relatively soft, but when hitting at a high rate of speed, it could probably cause a dent.

Sorry guys I was too enraged to grab a camera... I started the clean up lastnight as it happened... I will post a pic of all the cleaned up cars when I am done and you can see from the walls of the garage, I was not able to stop him until the chamber was empty.... good thing it was only 1/4 loaded...

They say never leave a loaded gun in the house... I should have realize that applied to 'fake' guns too...

there was 1 dent from what I can see and it was on the hood of the X5.... I think i'd be more pissed if the dent was on the M3 or the 550...

X5 is the wife's car

When it becomes an anecdote in a few weeks and the rage has subsided, you'll be thanking your lucky stars that your little 'un didn't do him/herself an injury with it. A car's a car, dents come out.

Your five year old just totally unloaded the paintball gun on your car? Why couldn't you get him to stop?
Was he in the "zone" ?

Totally your fault dude. What would you expect a five year old to do? Keeping a loaded marker with a CO2 tank attached in your garage... whats up with that? Do you have a cat problem or something?

Sorry to hear what happened, hope that a nice clean up should put everything back to normal.
