How current is owners circle. I'm getting frustrated with not knowing where my vehicle is at. All OC is saying is waiting for transport and that's it. It's been at the shipping port for 2 weeks now, it's getting really frustrtating not knowning if my vehicle will be shipped anytime soon, i can't wait anymore loloolol GRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I just want to know if BMW is pretty good at updating their site and if its possible my car is already in transit but just has not updated.

Thanks

From my experience with the most recent BMW purchase is that it's about 36-48 hours behind. Your dealer will be able to give you more up to date information if you call them.

My 2005, delivered in Jan. 2005, was never listed correctly and still shows up as in the VDC. You need to talk to your dealer to get better informion, but mine never really had it right until the car showed up. Part of this was due to it being a European Delivery car, but it is really inexcusable that they can't track them better. UPS, FedX, and even the U.S. Mail do a better job of tracking shipments.

As stated above you should call your sales person to get an update. They will have much more accurate info than OC. The OC does not even have the right manuals or info on the current 5er. Still showing E39 stuff!

An alternative is to call the BMW NA customer relations number. 1-800-831-1117 Go to vehicle production status. #2 or say vehicle production status. Then enter or say your production number. This info is about a day behind. It provides a bit more information.

Or call the 1-800 number and ask for a customer rep. They also can look up the information. This is the same database your dealer will pull from.

Mine is still at the dock in Bremerhaven as well waiting for a ship to the west coast (California). Only been a week for me.

Don't sweat it too much, OC said my car was Awaiting Transport the day I picked it up at the dealer! OC is not a reliable source. As others have noted, pester your SA, they can get the latest/greatest...

My SA sucks, they straight told me they wouldn't know anything until 15 days prior to delivery which i hear its not the case. I called BMW NA and they said they didn't know anything that sales would know more than they would.

Here is a more reliable way to track your car. I was in the east coast last year when I did ED. I tracked my car via the Wallenius Wilhelmsen website. There I clicked Customer Centre -> Cargo Tracking -> RoRo cargo, I think. In the cargo ID field I entered my VIN. If it's not RoRo then it might have been Auto cargo. I plagiarized this info from bimmerfest.

Wallenius Wilhelmsen (east coast deliveries)

N Y K line (West coast deliveries)
http://www2.nykline.com/home/index.html

Shipping schedule from Bremerhaven (use Port Hueneme for the EXPORT) http://www.dbh.de/index.php?id=151&L=0

San Diego Marine Information Systems. <--- use this one to get the arrival schedule for Port Hueneme (west coast delivery)
http://www.sdmis.org/schedule/

Ship Locations on a global map. If you know the name of your ship, you can search for it (this site is a little slow, be patient)
