Hey guys,

Im so glad i found this forum.. finnaly a good spot for my BMW questions

I am running a BMW 530d 2004 E60 with xenon headlights.
I see in the headlight unit the orange LED's and there is a plug then goes into there when i open the hood. But they dont come on when i turn on my lights.
I have already checked all my fuses in the front and the back and all are ok.

Does anyone have any idea?
These are the lights i am talking about:

Thanks.. Greetings from Holland.

Not sure if this applies to you but I see your car is a 2004 so perhaps... There was an earlier software version that accidently turnewd off the "eyeborws". You'll have to do a search as I can't recall which version caused the issue or which version corrected the issue...

I have the exact same thing with my 2004 525i. They told me at the BMW service that it has to be put on via sofware upgrade. And the upgrade takes about 4 hours and costs 105 euros. Not so cheap but I'm going to take the upgrade when I have the time to leave my car there, maybe some other new goodies with the upgrade too - hope...

From what can recall about the vintage of software that caused the eyebrows to not work, getting the update will provide some benefits, particularly if you have professional navigation... Does change the appearnce (colors) of iDrive as well.

From what I understand a certain software verson was uploaded to your car. Unfortunately, this update had a bug which turned off the "eyebrows". A later update (Progman 24.00..not the latest) fixes that. Since it was a buggy update, I think that you should get it fixed for free.

I bought the car second hand with this software version.

Anyways, turns out it is indeed the software that needs to be upgraded. Costs.. 295euro euros and no warrenty what so ever on the upgrade, if it fails halfway, i will be the one paying for new chips. Its because they say they dont know the history of the car.

This is insane.. i am Fxxxed because BMW doesnt keep thier software in order :S
