I live in Washington DC, so we have a pretty cold season. The traffic is not horrible when I drive, and sometimes use highways. A couple times year I will drive a few hours away to, New York, South/North Carolina, and such.

I'd not spend $$ on heated rear seats. Heated front seats and the heated steering wheel will be very nice in DC winters, I can assure you.

I have no experience with active cruise control, but I would think that it would not be suitable for use in the hectic DC area traffic, even if it's not "horrible" when you drive. It's just that drivers are crazy enough that I can't imagine being comfortable using it over and above regular cruise control. Even up and down I-95, I would think that the ability to use active cruise control for long stretches of time are limited due to the traffic patterns.

On the advice of the great master himself, Beewang, I dump the active cruise and got the logic 7 instead.

If you can only order one or the other, get "A", you'll use them everyday ...

I have the heated seats and steering wheel and they are great. They respond quickly and make the winters much more bearable in the car. Do not have the active cruise control though.

My Ride: 2004 545i - 6 speed manual (July 04 build), silver-grey/black, sports package std equipment (18", active roll, active steering, adaptive headlights), premium sound, bluetooth enabled, folding rear seat, lumbar, 3m hood/bumper protective film, rear tint, euro reflectors.

You may have already ordered, but you can change things in your build for awhile.

Not sure if you are considering other options, but here is my $0.02 worth:

Folding rear seat - salesman had said it would rattle, mine does not and it has come in handy on a few occasions.
Love the sport package: active roll, steering & adaptive headlights
At a minimum, wire for future satelite.
Logic 7 is a MUST!
You will love heated seats in the winter
I did not get adaptive cruise - have not heard anybody rave about it.

Now for the accessories, get your salesman to give you a deal (employee purchase price):
Euro reflectors!!!!!
All weather mats - great for winter & rain
Non slip cargo liner - it really is non-slip
3M hood/bumper film (if you don't like stone chips)
BMW sun shade - actually fits the window nicely

I have not ordered it yet. But Im going with the Comfort Seats, and Heated heats. I dont listen to music seriosly, so I would not enjoy Logic 7. The MSRP is $52,190. I have an offer for "$1,500" over invoice which come to $49,290. Is that as low as I can go?
