Ok, I'm really pissed now...
Sorry to hear of the problems...sounds like they put carboflo on the seals....this was the first technical service bulletin on this. My car is in for the 4th time on the creaking door seal problem since Feb. I recieved a response from BMW customer service that they " were unaware of any problem with the door seals"....I have lost all confidence that this is a problem they can fix....I will probably get an attorney and make them repurchase the car. These are to expensive for customers to be lab rats for BMW to try to fix a big problem they are well aware of.

When one gets into these rattling problems - the real problems start.
First - the rattles are really hard to locate
Second - the dealers have no or less expertice with them
Third - the problem is extremely hard to fix
Fourth - BMW do not admit them
Fifth - i.e. the dash and the sealings would actually need to be replaced
and even then the problem could continue
I have experienced this with the ex-E60 and with my first E46 coup.
But the good part is that the door lists can be changed and the metallic
parts around it cleaned.
My friends facelift E46 has gone thrue all stages with to door lists and it still...
I did get a new E60 and the E46 Ci got fixed with new seales and a new stearing wheel...
PS. The seals squake - not rattle!?

No update on this one - I don't have the time to go to the dealer, nor do I have a desire to go there now. I have detailed interior over the weekend, and luckily, the stains came off without a trace, but at a price of 4 hours of elbow grease. Anyway, I'll wait for the paperwork that expalins in detail all that they "fixed", and if it will say that they actually REPLACED door seals, I'm writting email to BMW USA, and raising hell at the dealership - the seals have 11/03 spamp on them, meaning they were made in November 2003! If paperwork will say that they changed them, that means that I can't believe a thing they ever did to my car - did they actually change my oil? Did they change my brake fluid or just re-set my idrive to show it? Un-****ing-believable!
