Hey Guys,

I went to clean under my hood like I usually do when I get my car washed and I noticed oil splatter on my air filter box along the side. Looks like I may have a slow leak somewhere? Any one have this issue before? Its not a lot of oil, but I feel like I should be alarmed before it gets worse.

most likely from the oil filter housing. there are 2 gaskets you need to replace. my filter box had oil splatter on the side when it was leaking.

The oil filter is nowhere near the air filter box.... I would say you have a slow or pin hole leak in a line or the oil pressure switch... Are you sure its oil and not something else?

Hey Jay, thanks for the referral - I think I am having you guys detail and tint... Hit me up with a PM if you dont mind with the type of tint you guys use - I dont remember!

Sorry Luxurytax - didnt mean to hijack!!

I'll get a picture tomorrow. The oil is on the left side towards the engine.

100% agreed.

Here is the link for the OP. http://forums.5serie..._1#entry1348584

The probem is hardly detectable if you open the hood to look for it while the engine is idling. I finally got around and followed Jay's instructions a couple months ago and the problem is fixed. Thanks again, Jay!!!
