UPDATE:
Dealer did tests and confirmed the problem was the high pressure fuel pump. They had one in stock and had the car ready the next day. Also got the new software update to eliminate the cold tranny jerk/clunk. All appears to be well so far. Fingers crossed.

I'm waiting delivery of my '09 535i (pushed back to Feb thanks to the prolonged Christmas holiday - thanks BMW).
I noticed a recall was issued for 335i's, but not for 535i's. Weird considering from what I've read it's the same engine and same HPFP.
I'm assuming the issues with the HPFP's have been resolved since they are issuing a recall? Here's hoping my '09 doesn't suffer from this!

I am noticing a different "feel" to the tranny now that it has been updated with new software. It definitely seems to have smaller and tighter gearing, and the shifts feel quicker. In other words, it feels more sporty. Not sure I like it. Also, when I am slowing, the tranny gears down much more aggressively. Could be I am subconsciously comparing my 535 with new software to the 528 loaner I drove for a day and a half, but I am sure things are different. Also noticed today a single episode of the car doing something funny going from first to second - sort of like a hesitation. Not sure what that was - didn't do again.
