Yep, this is good stuff. Only sorry I cannot contribute. Even after I get a meter back it will only possibly help in discussing meter results, effects of changing software and or hardware. There will be some similarities but my 6er will not be an exact match.

GOt one email back from gtech indicating they received my "complaint" (I actually asked for an RMA authorization to return the meter). No contact now for 72 hours. Lord knows when I'll be back in business.

Out of frustration I have started looking elsewhere and came across this outfit in UK
http://www.race-technology.com/Site1_UK/ac...e_computer2.htm

I need to look into this a little more but they discuss having a data loffer that seems very compehensive.
Hi cd:

It's easy to get to Tesla customer support via phone. Let me know if you want the number; the one I use is in the manual. You'd probably get faster service through them through phone. When I returned my SS, I just got the RMA via phone and ordered a new one for 2-day delivery. Then, I sent the old one back--assuming that they will give proper credit. But, officially I haven't paid for the new one yet--since it was charged. Hoping you get something going soon.

I used 310 452-0030 and could not get to a human. Will try again today when they wake up (coming up on 6AM PST)

Here are my first data with mods off. So far there is little basis for differentiating between the mods on and mods off cars. In this regard, it is premature to decide that the mods on car is faster since learning may be involved. Time will tell, maybe. Also, I need to mention that I muffed my first run, which felt the best, by forgetting to start the timer. First time I have ever done that. Darn!

Well Zman it doesn't appear that taking the modds off hurt you.But it also does't look like it helped either. The runs were very consistant and I notice that the shift rpm's look much better since you recal'd the Pro RR.I assume you had controls off and were in DS or manual? How is the wheelspin issue off the line?I know it will take some time and more runs to sort out the differences. We look forward to your updates.I am still waiting for snow to melt and roads to clear before any more testing is possible.

cd ...for our mini club, please post your numbers so we can see the little difference in the e60 vs e63 and how the design and weight of our cars plays into the pix...

Yes, all off and in DS. It is looking like my car is faster in DS again, but that was appearing to become the case with mods on.

You could take a hair blower outside--to your strip. I am getting a tad of wheelspin. On the run I forgot to time, I got some--at the new site--which is very "sticky." But, I can't draw any conclusions about wheel spin, etc., yet.

And, right the recal seemed to clear some things up. I also tested the Pro RR's RPM reading against the internal tach. And, all three tachs appear to be in tune. Someday I'll observe when the internal tach says shifting occurs to be more sure about what's going on. The recall has not helped with the Tesla time/speed anomolies--meter versus stored for download.

I noticed today that my car really does start in first in D now. As, I recall, you said yours does too, right???. Did it do so before 20.01 also?

I thought of a test to see if your car is not fully disabeling the DTC/DSC function. With the controls in the disable mode drive into water(rain or water hose)and go to full throttle. If the controls are not fully disabeled you may only get a little wheelspin. However if the wheels spin uncontrolably it would indicate that the controls are really disabeled. With my controls off I get wheelspin to 6500 rpm with a shift to second gear.

Yes my car always started in first gear in D even before updated to 20.01.

Got my RMA tonight and will return tomorrow. Will be on travel so I hoope to have a RR waiting on me when I get back late next week.

m630, of course I'll be in "competition" with the 545s trying to best them as well as help in diagnostics of the issues raised here

But, I'd have to get my car wet. Ok, I'll try it if I ever am ever caught in the rain. Thanks for thinking about the possibilities, but I'm not quite ready to try the water test. Still, it may be the only way. Hmmmm?
