been a while as it's been running fine until today....
so parts of the heating system have stopped working. it's not a coolant issue as the front demist pumps out hot air nicely.
not working,
heated seats,
body and foot well blower.
the front demister works fine and i can change the temp in the idrive along with the speed of it. i have no control over any of the other parts of the heating. all the light come on, fan speed light, heated seat light etc.
I'm thinking that this is a battery isssue as it's been getting worked really hard recently and started to strugle with starting. I had to give the battery a charge a few weeks back due to the slow starting.
A friend's range rover had the same problem and found it to be his battery dying.
Anyway before finding this out i had book it in with a stealer as it still got AUC warranty. i'm still going to send it in as it has bad FM reception, i'm not to bothered about that. you never know if it is the battery they may change (should) change it under warranty.
back to the point, anyone else had this problem. im betting on the battery.

Unless you have alternator issues, if the car is running when you attempt to adjust heater settings I would not be inclined to think it is a battery problem as most if not all vehicles function fully with no battery assist once started.

i did a few checks last night, all the fuse for the ac system are fine and the car went in to sleep mode last night. that leads me to think that it is not a blown module.
this morning i got a high battery discharge warning. the car still start and drive, everything seems to be working except the heating,
my gut is with either the battery or alternator. anyway it's at the stealer now and i'm sure they try and blame me for it. nothing new there i suppose lol.
on the up side i get to use my mums porchse for a few days and that's always fun

The dealer call yesterday with an update, they have replaced a battery sensor and battery lead. this now is reading the correct voltage. they need to charge it over night as it's flat, and continue with more diagnostics today.
The car is programmed to shut down none essencal items to save the battery and keep the car move on very low voltage. so it wasn't a fault in the heating system.
good news is I get the car back on wednesday morning, After the repairs I have it booked for a full valet (It will be the first time it's had a wash since I bought it 4 months again).
Hope this helps anyone else with the same problem.
