My Ride: 530i 2006 Jet Black w/tan leather. Premium package; Sport Package; Sat Radio
The car manual says to always use at least 91 octane. But it also says that not using it will not harm your car. I was curious if everyone is sticking to what the manual is saying or is yeilding to cheaper gas/pertrol.

My Ride: My ex-ride: EU '08 LCI 520dA. Space Grey, Sport Seats in Black Leather/Fabric Anthracite, Sport Steering Wheel, A/C with Extended Features, Hi-Fi Speakers, Cup Holders, Cruise with Braking function, Folding Rear Seats, Xenons, Park Distance Control.
98 octane in EU, but could use also 95.

Always highest... Highest for me is the minimum recommended by BMW. Its really not THAT much cost difference and if you're squeezing for those $2 per tank one should re-think what car to own.
Short term it wont do harm but long run cant be good for the car/performance having the ECU compensate for lower Octane and early detonation.
